BarkVille Dog Rescue is a 100% volunteer, nonprofit organization committed to saving dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. Barkville Dog Rescue is one of many dog rescue organizations I support. I grew up with a dad who rescued any and every animal that needed rescuing. We had all sorts of animals temporarily living in our house while he rehabilitated them and find them a home. For a while we had basset hounds running around our yard because that was his current rescue of choice. Also, my experience being a sick kid showed me that life isn’t fair. Well, it isn’t. As adults we know that, but kids and animals shouldn’t have to learn that. I donate, spread awareness, foster, attend events and basically do anything I can to help a pup or a kitty in need.

The GBS | CIDP Foundation International is a global nonprofit organization supporting individuals and their families affected by Guillain-Barre’ syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN) and related conditions through a commitment to support, education, research and advocacy. The GBS | CIDP Foundation International is a global nonprofit organization supporting individuals and their families affected by Guillain-Barre’ syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN) and related conditions through a commitment to support, education, research and advocacy.

As a kid, I started showing symptoms of CIDP when I was ten. It took 18 months to diagnose me, and I was in and out of the hospital for the next five years. Being a chronically sick kid is a unique, humbling experience. I strive to help others with chronic illnesses know they are not alone. I also work to give patients a space to say, “this just sucks,” and be heard and acknowledged. Being chronically ill can suck. Knowing you have support and knowing someone understands can make it better.

Development Opportunities - One of my passion projects I am working on is developing shelters for those in crisis who need a place to go with their pets in rural areas of Middle TN. I am always looking for nonprofit organizations who work in this sector to partner with, as well as, investors and potential locations or areas for these properties
